These terms explain the arrangements between Skinner's Chimney Sweep and customers booking chimney sweeping or related services.

By booking an appointment, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Appointments

Appointments are subject to availability. Skinner's Chimney Sweep reserves the right to rearrange appointments where necessary due to circumstances outside of reasonable control.

Access and preparation

Customers should ensure safe and reasonable access to the appliance, fireplace and chimney before the appointment.

The fireplace, appliance and surrounding area should be clear of any items the customer wishes to protect.

A suitable electrical socket should be available for the use of sweeping equipment, including a soot vacuum, unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in advance.

Suitable parking or unloading access close to the property should be provided where reasonably possible.

Presence at appointment

Someone aged 18 or over should be present at the property during the appointment unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in advance.

Payment

Payment is due on completion of the service unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Where an invoice is issued, payment should be made within the payment period stated on the invoice.

Skinner's Chimney Sweep reserves the right to charge interest on overdue payments.

Chimney sweeping certificates and findings

A chimney sweeping certificate records the condition of accessible parts of the chimney, appliance and installation at the time of the visit.

The certificate does not guarantee that hidden, inaccessible or concealed defects do not exist.

Customers should seek appropriate professional advice where defects or concerns are identified.

Service limitations

Chimney sweeping is intended to remove soot, deposits and obstructions from accessible areas of the chimney or flue. It does not include structural repairs or remedial work unless specifically agreed.

Bird nest removal will only be carried out where lawful to do so.

Liability

Skinner's Chimney Sweep will carry out services with reasonable care and skill.

Customers remain responsible for ensuring that appliances, installations and any associated equipment are maintained appropriately.

Changes to these terms

Skinner's Chimney Sweep reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
